Recently I went tent shopping, bringing in an empty propane cylinder for recycling. Walking in, an employee immediately offered to take it, and apologized that the store no longer recycled this metal canister. He could have ignored me, but immediately took responsibility for the product. Several staff were very helpful with clothing and tenting ideas. Recently, at MEC Toronto, a cashier spent 15 minutes tracking down a tagless shirt, ensuring I got a discount, despite the shirt invisibility in the system. Exemplary service, with good prices, means a repeat customer.
It's a medium sized store but great for most things you'd need in a city the size of Kitchener/Waterloo/Cambridge. Their customer service is the usual awesome MEC standard for sure. I got winter boots with huge defects I found 2 years after purchase, and they honoured the whole thing and just mailed me a brand new replacement for the same price - no additional costs to me. Great place.
Beautiful store. Staff was friendly and answered all my questions. Membership is cheap and products are great with a lifetime warranty on MEC products according to the staff. We had bought stuff from London five years ago and he said we could visit their store to get it fixed.
We went for an educational talk and it was okay. The speaker needs to be a lot more enthusiastic. MEC has a great selection, but I am not convinced that value for money. The products are good, but very pricey.
Smaller compared to the Barrie store. But it's well maintained and clearly a brand new store. More women than men's clothing. It seems like the 2 main departments are cycling and kayaking/canoeing. But all that being said I still had no problem finding what I was looking for. All in all it's a good store.
