This place has great food but the service lately has been terrible! On Friday, May 4th, my girlfriend and I decided to order take-out from them. We looked at their menu and put together an order for dinner and I also wanted to order a pound of brisket on the side to nibble on during the weekend.I called them around 7:00pm. The phone rang for awhile and no one picked up. I called them back in 15 minutes and a woman picked up the phone. She asked me "How can I help you?"I said "Hi, I'd like to place an order for pick-up."She said "I'm sorry, we are backed up 45 minutes. If you would like to come in to the restaurant, we may be able to serve you." Then she immediately hung up the phone! This place needs to learn the basics about running a restaurant, specifically one that offers take-out.First - If you're short staffed or very busy and backed up, you never tell a call-in customer you can't help them. Tell them you can take their order, but they may have to wait longer then normal. Take their order and add it to the end of your order list. If they told me this, It wouldn't have bothered me! The food is great and we we were not in a rush. Then you can suggest that if they come into the restaurant, they may be able to serve you quicker.Second - Never hang up on the customer! What if I was a first time caller? I would never give you my business again. SOS is a new business and this is not how you develop a customer base. Additionally, the order my girlfriend and I put together was roughly $70 worth of food! What business would turn down a $70 take-out order? They didn't even ask what I wanted to order. They didn't try to accommodate me at all.I want to stress that this place has great food. I've never had a problem with the food ever. But some basic customer service goes a long way. If they didn't have the best brisket in town, I may have contemplated spending my money elsewhere.Sincerely,Concerned Customer
Wanted a low-key, good meal. Wow! Did this ever hit the spot. Pulled pork and ribs are amazing. Excellent fries and onion rings. Great service. Reasonable cost. We'll be coming back!!!
We were interested to try a bbq joint within walking distance of our home. We came here for dinner on a Saturday evening and no other customers were in the restaurant, that should have been our first sign. We ordered the brisket, Cajun smoked wings, caesar salad and corn bread. We received very small amount of the brisket, definitely not a meal/dinner portion. The wings said smoked but they were crunchy and the dry Cajun spice had no flavour. Cornbread was not nice, just dry. Because we didnt make the brisket a combo we didnt even get water to drink. Neither of us were full so on the way home we both got a shawarma wrap. Cant find one nice thing to say about this place. Just head to Lancaster Smokehouse for a proper bbq experience.
Loved this place ... Felt welcomed as soon as we walked in. Food was fantastic! Everything that I had (pulled chicken, brisket, onion rings and the baked beans) were just perfect! I will come back and tell everyone about it!
Excellent food quality. Good variety within the spectrum of barbeque food. Atmosphere consistent with food, but I'm not sure I like the order counter as opposed to table service. Overall, these misgivings are overshadowed by the quality and taste in the food.
