Overall, great place to unwind in downtown Kitchener. Wonderful sauna and hot-tub, nice swimming pool with (real) plants on the deck and glass roof. Towel service! Also has small but we'll equipped gym.Great, when not too busy, heads-up, check ahead if there are large parties (like hockey teams f'r instance). Crowne Plaza has done major renovation and the facilities are nice. I give three (and a half) stars... it's definitely not five. A few rough edges (it's Kitchener). I'd give it four if more attention paid to some maintenance details.....but then, maybe I'm just picky.
The room was comfortable and the staff was friendly. The fitness center was large and well equipped but could have used some extra air conditioning. The parking was nearby. Be warned - if you have a lifted vehicle, it may not fit under the low ceiling of the lower level. There is an overflow outdoor lot that's accessible from the street. I did not try the food. Overall, the hotel is excellent for the price.
This place is amazing, we had to stay a night because we had appointments with our 2 year old the next morning. We had an amazing stay and the beds are super comfy. The team there are amazing and very fun, the atmosphere when you walk in is jazzy and the music is uplifting and the colors are so eye catching. I felt right at home, most places got boring elevator music but these guys have it all smooth but funky I love it. I can't wait to go back again, the only thing that kind of broke my heart is the arcade games down stairs need a little updating, some were out of order with out signs and just took the money. Other then that this place is awesome and I can't wait to stay again. Next time for luxury
Beautiful, clean, bright hotel. Great list of amenities though I didn't get to experience any of them. The room was clean and suitable. No odours or anything. Complementary continental breakfast is pretty standard. 4 stars because I wish there was more sound proofing. I could hear other guests and the cleaning crew in the hallway at 9am in the morning when I had a late night and was trying to sleep in (checkout is at noon).
Pros:Friendly staffLovely and well equipped gymBetter than average hotel bedCons: Very thin wallsCharged daily for parking (not included in room charge)Lots of interruption to sleepI have stayed two separate weeks at this point and both times I was not overly excited. The lovely staff gives it a star and the well equipped gym/comfy bed puts it up to a 3.The staff is great and very lovely to speak to. The rooms are fine, but nothing over the top. A comfy bed, a smalls desk, and a TV. Amenities are what you would expect, but again nothing over the top.I have two major complaints and that is sound proofing and parking. You have to pay an additional $12 a day and you can hear absolutely everything in the hall. For example, I was woken up at 3 am by some people getting back from the bar.Overall, not a great option in Waterloo in my opinion and I know there are better options around for the money. The second week, I found I can hear anytime my next door neighbor coughs, has a phone call, or runs the water. Also had a fire alarm at 6 in the morning. They do have a lovely gym though
