I have had my daughter enrolled at KW Gymnastics for about 1.5 years now, and honestly, I’m disappointed with the progress and overall quality of the classes. In the beginning, the 45-minute sessions were divided into different activities every 15 minutes, which kept the kids engaged and gave them variety. However, recently the classes have changed — now almost the entire session (around 30 mins) is spent on just one activity, and only a small portion (10/15 mins) is used for something else. My daughter often gets bored and doesn’t feel challenged anymore. Another concern is the lack of attentiveness from the coaches. They don’t seem to be actively teaching or correcting the kids, and it feels more like free play than structured gymnastics training. After such a long time of consistent attendance, I really expected to see more progress and better engagement. I wanted to share this so other parents can make an informed decision before enrolling. At this point, I’m not very happy with the experience, and I don’t feel my daughter is benefitting the way I had hoped.
My brother goes there and has learnt many things. he is trying to get into the Olympics and I think its working great. My only complaint is the place is very smelly and some places of the building are very dirty/
We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Kitchener Waterloo Gymnastics, especially the toddler program. After leaving a club in Cambridge based on a strong recommendation to try this one, we are so glad we made the switch. The difference has been incredible. The program itself is thoughtfully designed, engaging, and age-appropriate … every activity seems to spark curiosity, confidence, and joy in the kids. But what really sets it apart is Coach Kate. She is absolutely phenomenal with the little ones …patient, positive, and endlessly encouraging. Under her guidance, we’ve seen such amazing growth and development in our daughter, both in skill and confidence. Coach Kate makes every class feel like a celebration of progress, no matter how small. She truly has a gift for working with toddlers and creating a warm, safe, and motivating environment. We feel lucky to have found this program and can’t recommend it enough to other parents looking for something special for their little ones. Thank you, Coach Kate and the entire KW Gymnastics team …you’ve made a huge impact on our daughter, and on us!
Honestly disappointed with this gymnastics place. The kids don’t seem to be progressing properly – one season they move up a level, then the next they’re randomly placed back down again with no clear explanation. It doesn’t feel like they’re being evaluated seriously at the end of each season. Their online dashboard is also useless – it never gets updated with the skills the kids should be working on, so there’s no clear path or goals. I also asked multiple times about getting my child into competitive training, but there’s “never any space.” Feels like a total waste of time and money. Definitely not what we expected when we signed up. Or recommended for any one to go unless you need to waste your money
My daughter is doing her third year of competitive gymnastics. We switched gyms in the fall and have really enjoyed KW. This gym is well organized and has fair policies that align with Gymnastics Ontario guidelines. The coaches are knowledgeable and very experienced. They truely want what is best for your child (including their mental health). They treat each child equally and meet them where they are at. We love being able to volunteer to save some money. It also adds to the community feel!
The daytime staff - teaching babies, preschool, and homeschool levels- are kind and encouraging, and creative with their lessons and circuits. Always a cheerful invite, ensuring the parents and students are having fun and learning in a safe environment.
Attended a birthday party there. The activities were good. Friendly staff. The only issue was the time allocated for food. 30 minutes is not enough time to pack up and for little kids to eat. Teenagers, maybe? Kids under 10 definitely not as was proved at this party.
